UNIFORM AND EQUIPMENT

UNIFORM

Shirts - Juniors

All junior playing shirts are supplied for use for the duration of the season. The shirts remain Schofields Scorpions Baseball Clubs property and must be returned at the completion of the season. A failure to return the shirt will result in a $65.00 fee.

Damaged shirts will also result in a $65.00 fee.

 

Shirts - Seniors

Senior shirts are purchased by each player. Pending approval, each player can select the name and number go on the back of their shirt. Players will receive more information on how to complete their shirt order once a player has registered. The price of the shirt is $65.00.

Pants

Grey pants are required as part of the Scorpions uniform and are available for purchase from the below stores.

Club Hat

Club hats are available to purchase from the canteen or on uniform day ($25). As part of registration, all new players will receive a new baseball hat.

EQUIPMENT

Helmet

Given COVID-19 it is preferable that all players buy their own helmet to minimise the risk of any virus transfer. For our players safety, helmets purchased must be double eared. Should a player not be in the position to purchase their own helmet, the club will have helmets available to use.

Mitts are available for purchase from the below stores.

Shoes
  • In 7U Conferences, the Association will allow the use of sneakers or smooth-soled tennis shoes, although these are not recommended. Flexible soft-stops or dimple-type soles are acceptable in all conferences. Junior soccer boots without any metal components (except for lace eyelets) are acceptable and recommended in all conferences.

  • In 8U, 9U, 10U and 12U conferences, flexible soft-stops or dimple-type soles are recommended. Junior soccer boots without any metal components (except for lace eyelets) are acceptable.

  • Plastic cleats are acceptable in all 14U conferences and above.

  • Metal cleats are acceptable in all 17U conferences and Hay League

  • Removable plastic studs which incorporate a metal screw are not allowed in any conference.

Groin Protector 

All players, male or female, and at all ages, are encouraged to wear a groin protector or protective cup & athletic support. Players without this equipment shall not play, HOWEVER it is the responsibility of the player and his/her parent/guardian to comply with this Rule and the Association shall not be responsible for ensuring compliance nor for the consequences of any injury resulting from non-compliance. Modball pitching coaches are encouraged to comply with this rule, wear a cap and use a glove for protection. 

Batting Gloves (Recommended)
It is recommended that each player purchase a pair of batting gloves.

Bat (Optional)

Players are not required to purchase their own bats. Every team will have at least  2 bats in each team kit to use for the games.

Players that wish to purchase their own bat, please be aware that bat regulations can change occasionally. It is advised that players please consult with their coaches prior to buying a bat to ensure it is compliant with the current rules as detailed below.

Mouth Guards (Optional)

Mouth guards are recommended for all players in all age groups but are not mandatory.
